floggingmike
Stock speaker in my left back door is buzzing non stop with any bass now, so im looking for some inexpensive replacement speakers that will fit in where the old ones are without much hassle. I've heard good things from Alpine, and it'd be nice to turn up the volume without worrying. I'd just replace the rear door speakers probably, but who knows if I'd stop there for the future. As of now just in need of some decent speakers that wont kill my wallet. Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated!
andyb5
Myself and a few other members are running Alpine SPS-600 speakers in our s/v70s. They're affordable, fit in the stock bracket, and an handle a good amount of power too
(n)A-GAME
Will those SPS-600s won't fit in both front and rear doors? Or are you using them in the rear parcel shelf?
andyb5
They fit in both doors without issues on my wagon. No idea on parcel shelf installs in an S70.
floggingmike
Crutchfield says they dont fit my model? Probably just an error on their account, I trust you guys more than them obviously hahh, just double checking. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SPS600/Alpine-SPS-600.html?tp=
andyb5
Crutchfield also says you can't fit a double din into our dashes. In both cases, they're wrong. Here's the front door: Don't have one of the rear door speakers, but it looks mostly the same haha

Tyler T5R
I can sell you some new Polk db651s that I was going to put in my rear doors before I got the dynaudio kit instead. Great speakers.

floggingmike
Alright so I'm stuck between the SPE-6000 and SPS-610. Seems the SPS-610 replaced the SPS-600? Im leaning towards the 610's, just wanted to know what you guys have heard anything on these. They should fit in the stock mount with no issue right? burnout8488
The 610s are a popular pick among us Gen 1 guys. They mount perfectly from what I've heard.
floggingmike
Sounds like we have a winner then. Reviews were good on them, and i test them out at Best Buy today. Sounded like what I'd want in my wagon so I'll be picking up 2 pairs asap.
andyb5
Yes, the SPS-610's replaced the SPS-600s. I am very happy with my 600s.
Skyshadow
Not to thread jack but what speakers do we use to replace the tiny dash speakers on either side in our v70s and s70s?
burnout8488
You need to retrofit whatever tweeters are included with the set of components you choose. Usually involves a dremel to cut the old speaker out of the plastic frame, and some stinky plastic glue to affix the new tweeter into the pod. Every car is different, and every aftermarket tweeter is slightly different - you need to get creative with these usually.
