Ol' Dirty Noodle
Reviving this, some of you may know of my clutch woes trying to be the first M56 classic S40 in the US, at this point I'm ready to order a brand new Viva SM flywheel and S60R clutch, my question being what is the difference between the 04-05 clutch and the 06-07? Anyone here running the viva SM flywheel?
don kalmar union
You might be interested in the various UK made lightened single mass flywhhels that I stock....shipping across the pond is a wee bit costly...but don't forget that my prices include UK VAT at 20% that I do not have to charge on exports outside the EU.http://kalmar-union.com/parts/volvo-s60_s80_xc70_v70_-transmission/That is the 'P2' page, there are others for the earlier cars.Regards, Don. Ol' Dirty Noodle
Yea that and the exchange rate kills, I got my setup from the UK, paid more for shipping than parts. thanks anyway though
lookforjoe
The flywheel to crankshaft bolts are 17mm 12 point Automatic flex plate, maybe. SM flywheel bolts I believe are 12mm 12point, similar to a torx, but not. I bought a specific tool for them. PN 9454743 (position 15) bolts are coated, so if you are re-using old ones, make sure to loctite them. Not advisable to re-use more than once, they will shear during the angle torque process. lookforjoe
Yea that and the exchange rate kills, I got my setup from the UK, paid more for shipping than parts. thanks anyway though If you need the whole setup - if you have the late spline like the M66 - then Don's AP Racing clutch & flywheel package makes sense. Shipping is not cheap (around 100quid), but taking everything apart multiple times due to mismatch/component failure is also a bitch.
Ol' Dirty Noodle
Yea I think I'm just going viva sm and stock R clutch, I can't make anymore than 300hp without building the motor anyway so I should be fine no? I wanna make the Ithaca meet which is why I want to order within the states, 2 day shipping from viva and I usually get my tasca parts within 2 days if they have stock.
