Trunks850R
So i picked up the third member of the family this weekend(97 850R, 04 S60R, now ive added a 98 S70T5M!) , and the radio works, comes on does what its supposed to, but no sound at all. I looked for the amp fuse, and cant find it at all. Im pretty sure i checked all the fuses under the hood and theyre all good. What do i do now? Surely Volvo put some kind of protection for the amp. On my 850R when the amp went out, it just blew every fuse i put in. And yes, the car had the problem when i got it, so i changed the head unit with one i knew worked that i had laying around(a non amplified head unit, the one with the three disc changer) Yes ive searched this forum, this isnt my first rodeo, just havent posted in a while. Thanks for your help!
andyb5
What HU came in the car, and what did you replace it with?
BEJinFBK
If your car doesn't have a 6 pin round DIN cable to plug into the AMP port on that fancy radio, it's gonna be pretty quiet. Is it there?
Trunks850R
Yes its there, i made sure of that
BEJinFBK
IIRC, the radio and the outboard amp share a fuse for constant power. ( 7? ) If the radio retains radio station memory, you should have power to the external amp. Just for grins, post a pic of the back of your radio with everything plugged in. It's not the AMP connector that I'm curious about - I'd like to see the B connector.
