t8fanning
I am looking into ATE premium one rotors for my 1999 V70 AWD. I've found plenty of sources for front rotors, but I am having trouble finding rear rotors. Does anyone know of any retailers for rear AWD ATE rotors? Or other options I should pursue? Also how does the upgraded 302 mm compare to stock? I have stock wheels, but if it makes that big of a difference I may hold out and get new wheels and 302 mm rotors at the same time. NM Evan
I had trouble sourcing cheaper rotors and etc for my R. I decided to go all out and got powerslots. When you do the 302mm upgrade, the choices get more rare and more expensive. Although I feel like it was well worth it. I'm on 16" wheels with out issues. Also I went with EBC red stuff pads since hawk does not have a pad that will fit the rear on AWDs.
t8fanning
Interesting. How is the pad wear with powerslots? I thought I read they wore quickly. What vendor did you go to for your rotors?
NM Evan
I got the cryo treated rotors since most of my hard braking comes from mtn decents, I wanted to protect against warping. Pad wear seems fine at the moment. http://autoanything.com had some good prices along with a new customer % code. A lot of places were charging shipping which killed the deal. I didn't want drilled rotors so my other option was the dimpled EBC sports (I think) but the front 302mm were astronomically priced... like $200 or so a piece! I also did stainless lines which I highly recommend as well.
t8fanning
Thanks for the link. I'll probably take a similar route, although I am still undecided on 302s. My tires still have lots of life and I don't want to eat that cost.

I have the stock 16" rims and the 302mm fit perfectly. the 320mm on the other hand requires 17"+ I believe. Even the 12mm difference from the stock 280mm to 302mm was noticeably well worth it. t8fanning
I have 15" wheels. I don't have an R unfortunately, and I think AWD trims came with 15" stock wheels.

Commander Riker
I think you'll need 16's to clear the 302's. I put the ATE powerslots on my R a few years ago, and they have been awesome. Pad wear is great. I did run them with my stock R wheels, I believe... but it was "right there", if you know what I mean. As for performance increase... there is some. It's not amazing, but I'm of the opinion that it just made the car stop more like it "should." That's open to interpretation too, I suppose. Source for rotors and brackets/lines was FCP http://www.fcpgroton.com
t8fanning
Thanks for the input. I'm looking for some 16 or 17" wheels. I think I would prefer the 302 mm, so I will probably just hold out on rotor replacement until I get new wheels. Hopefully I can find some for super cheap. Big Will
I have 15" wheels. I don't have an R unfortunately, and I think AWD trims came with 15" stock wheels. AWD's came stock with 16" rims but they don't fit the 302 brakes without modifying the caliper. Some of the 16" rims do, but not the Persus that the AWD came with. XCs came with 15" rims unless it was a 2000 SE which had 16s (which fit the 302s). If you have an AWD w/ 15" rims then a previous owner switched them. t8fanning
Well it looks like someone switched stock wheels out then. I have 15" Arianes.
Big Will
Still one of the better looking 15" rims.
t8fanning
I agree. I like them better than a lot of larger rims, but I do also like 302 mm brakes. It's going to be a tradeoff and I haven'f made a decision yet.

Might be an S70 only thing though, can't say I've ever seen a V70 AWD with them. I believe the rear brake setup is from a 960/S90. Rotors from one of those cars should fit ours.
