jdlc
No plan to replace 13T on my 2.4T GLT engine. For those who actually done it, any noticeable power gain? Is it worth it for about $120? Thanks
caanglin
I did just the ecu and there was not much, if any difference.
jdlc
Thanks.^^^ Anybody who did the combo who believed he was able to get a fraction of the 48 horses spread (for 98) between GLT and T5?
cheat2win99
if you want a much quicker car, i'd suggest you replace your turbo with a 16t, top end pulls sooo much better.
Yellow95
I did 16t and ecu. The car was scarey quick.

jdlc
Thanks guys. I have no doubt about the 16T factor . Seems like ecu is a good start and maybe not bother with the white injectors - after all reds flow better than orange found in 850 turbo/T5 from what I gather. There's nothing wrong with my 13T and was just trying to get drop-in bang for buck mod. Done R mani install and DIY refurbed the 16T in my previous 98 T5M and I don't want to do it again as my back is not as young as it used to be : )
caanglin
I wouldn't bother with the injectors. I ran a 15G and T5 ecu (stock red injectors) on my 98 GLT with a OBX for 2+ years with zero issues.
Tightmopedman9
Just flash a new .bin on your ECU and use the red. No need to spend any money, except for the VAG-COM cable.

jdlc
I have a 98. Only 99+ can be flashed in car or did that change?

jdlc
Golly gee - Im obviously not paying attention to it, but Ipd sells (used to?) 99+ flasher which I knew not to work with earlier cars. This vag business is cool IF there's a known/stable mod for 98 GLT .bin file floating around for FREE in the forum. Is there one?
Keaton85
first page in the performance section. But personally, I think it's a waste of time with a 13T or 13G when 15G and 16T turbos are a dime a dozen and well worth the time and money. Horses With Gas
Just flash a new .bin on your ECU and use the red. No need to spend any money, except for the VAG-COM cable. (Referencing the 4.4 tuning thread) I wonder how far off a T5 map is from a GLT map of the same year. Some people simply swap a T5 ecu and injectors (maybe) into the LPT and report no problems. But others have reported misfires or rough idling with a T5 or R ECU swap into an LPT vehicle. I suspect that the T5 ecu adaptibility is being pushed to (or past) its limit. Starting from a T5 .bin, I suppose that changing the injector constant is just a starting point to get the T5 code to be optimized for a LPT vehicle.
