HappyMike
I am facing the dreaded engine swap decisions. My 2000 V70 GLT, lite pressure turbo has blown the head gasket. Water in oil and oil in water, lots pressure from the water cap....I can not find an engine without tons of miles, Which engine from later years i can "upgrade" into without killing my wallet? Performance improvement is plus but not necessary. I need help...
Keaton85
Why not just replace the head gasket?
HappyMike
It's 15 hour for head gasket work, plus cost of head work. 230k mi and water in oil may require bottom end work....
Keaton85
Replace valve stem seals and milling the head is not expensive. but 230k is a lot. 15hrs!!!! what slow poke is doing that job! 8-9hrs tops
