Adam Staton-Smith
I have a 98 S70 with the SC 816 HU. Am I wrong to think that I could splice the factory CD changer cable, find the Left and Right audio input and solder a AUX cable that could connect directly to my iphone? I have been looking at all these Blitzsafe wiring units http://blitzsafe.com/catalog/volvo/vol-/-aux-dmx-v-1/prod_241.html They seem WAY overpriced. Is there any reason this wont work? Thanks! Adam Staton-Smith
Wouldn't this work as well? http://compare.ebay.com/like/271183825362?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

MattyXXL
I have no clue... there are cheaper ones out there.. The Blitz for $67 http://www.ebay.com/itm/170892204446?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 I dont know if it would work with the SC series radio but http://www.ebay.com/itm/330630688509?item=330630688509&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr
Adam Staton-Smith
It might be tedious, but couldn't take off the sheath of the CDC cable, find left and right aux and solder to those? Keeping all other cables and power to the changer.

Keeping all other cables and power to the changer. Seems like a long trip to the well... The HU communicates digitally with the changer. The Blitzsafe and similar units handle that instead to enable the changer port and provide an audio input. Just get an adapter and you're done - PlugNPlay. Tyler T5R
If you're looking for the absolutely cheapest way to run aux in, there is a way (I think on mvs) to wire into the tape player you have to open the head unit but it didn't look too hard.
