850T5M
Alright, I went to a local garage and the guy was really cool...he had the cam seals in stock, so he sold me one for 5$ and made me use his tools to change out the seal...the cam seal was leaking, but just slightly. It wasn't enough to make the mess under the car... For anyone wanting to know, there's two torx T-40 bolts and a 10mm bolt on the inside... Looks like I'll be doing the RMS soon... While I'm there, I'm change the clutch. 282218 is the r clutch I believe, is that right? Where should I buy it, and what else do I need other than the throw out bearing? jdlc
You didn't check the intake rear cam seal while you're at it? Clean the underside now and observe if you still have that much leak after what you've done so far.You didn't check the intake rear cam seal while you're at it? billabond1
That is exactly how mine looked when the rear cam seal was leaking. When I took it out it hardly looked like it had been leaking at all but I haven't had any leaking since.
jdlc
Been saying that - that it may not look bad and not obvious, but it can mess up the underside that bad like in the OP's picture. So cleaning it now and checking the intake rear cam seal may be it for the most part (he may have other leak for all we know). I understand he wants to do R clutch so that would be a good opportunity to do RMS regardless.
850T5M
When you say the intake rear cam seal, do you mean the cam seal under the cam sensor? I did change that one... Which other cam seal should I be checking, the one under the distributor? Also, would a leaking rms get oil in my clutch, making it slip? Cuz my clutch isn't slipping at all...Just wondering
Keaton85
It doesn't get on your clutch. Mine doesn't slip and its been leaking for years!
