details:

stock tune

IPD coil packs (though the stock bosch coil packs did this too)

brand new NGK BRK7E plugs gapped to around .028"

All vac lines/hoses replaced

Intercooler joints replaced with samco's

Car runs strong and holds boost @ 11~12psi all the way to redline and otherwise shows no signs of anything being wrong

Sometimes the car stalls and dies during the sputtering on a cold start but another turn of the key and it fires up strong as if nothing was wrong.

Fuel filter was replaced @ 90k miles (currently 165K on odometer)

If it were an issue with the fuel injectors, ignition or fuel pump, would I not also be experiencing problems during daily driving or at least @ WOT?

Sometimes I can blip the gas pedal during startup to help it out a little but I never had this problem with my 98 T5 so I'm a bit puzzled as to what could be causing this. Lucky said it could be the electronic throttle but I had that replaced back @ 90k miles when we got the car.

So I'm kinda stumped here as to what could be causing this. It's not a huge headache since there's no issue once the car is actually running but it's a minor annoyance that I would like to try and fix if I can pinpoint what's causing it.
