Guest DougK
20" vac It shouldn't ever "go off" while under boost, only when you let off the throttle. That being said, ussualy 2-3psi is required to really hear it, depending on make ofcourse. Che'_Moderator
NP Now a wastegate, thats a different story.←I have a cool clip of one of our Porsches in a straight. You can hear the wastegate going off. At 50psi it sounds like a very pissed off chipmunk even over the engine and tire noise. I may still have it and will post it. Legbend
You can sometimes hear the pressure release on the CART cars... but usually the transmission is a lot louder during shifts.

turbor850
mine goes off around 9 psi, and if i let off slow, then it never goes off, i have to quickly let go of throttle, but thats because of the 5 washers i have in but not with my next bov :P
The Stig
Mine goes off pretty much as soon as I'm above 0, but I think that might have to do with the HKS being a pull-type valve. Of course, it isn't particularly loud at the moment. Stupid CB Valve :(
