Che'_Moderator
Arn't neighborhood watch members supposed to watch and report suspicious people?
Oreo931
I hope they live-stream the trial. I'd like to watch.
Burn-E
It seems if Zimmerman had stopped at watch and report as was requested by the LEO then we wouldn't be having this conversation. 2

Che'_Moderator
1. Most accounts have him walking back to his car after listening to the dispatcher. 2. Not walking away is not the issue here even if he didn't. It's who assaulted or battered who first.
ErikS
Hard to believe GZ went after the kid and then began the assault. My money is on TM getting pissed he was being followed and confronting GZ.
Burn-E
1. Most accounts have him walking back to his car after listening to the dispatcher. Probably to go get his gun... And that's not what the inspectors wrote up in their report that was submitted by the LEO who submitted the affidavit to the courts: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/04/12/us/13shooter-document.html 2. Not walking away is not the issue here even if he didn't. It's who assaulted or battered who first. That's for the courts to decide. This will put pressure on the language of Stand Your Ground in Florida at a minimum and potentially other States with similar statutes.

This will put pressure on the language of Stand Your Ground in Florida at a minimum and potentially other States with similar statutes. Hes not using an affirmative stand your ground defense. He is claiming self defense. As for it being for the courts to decide, not really. Juries do not make law. The law is already on the books, and its pretty clear cut. In FL if you throw a punch, you can be shot and its a justifiable shoot. The question here is did GZ commit battery on TM before the assault. If so there is that nasty gray area of escalation of force. That said, no matter what you say there is reasonable doubt all over this. Based on facts so far no sane person can say for 100% sure GZ is guilty, no less 12 people. The DA should not have indicted and every one knows it. What worse is all the bleeding hearts who are saying, "whats the big deal? he will get his day in court". Sure he will, but he will also probably go bankrupt trying to mount a defense. Call it what it is. This is a dog and pony show for the ignorant masses who would riot if he was not arrested.
Zappo
He can't use Stand Your Ground because he continued to follow him. I haven't heard anything about him going back to his car after reporting TM in the area.
flyfishing3
if guns weren't like bad accents in FLA, this might not have happened at all.?
Che'_Moderator
if guns weren't like bad accents in FLA, this might not have happened at all.? I'm just gonna say it. If the story GZ is telling is true, I am glad it happened. Humor me. Assume GZ is 100% telling the truth, does anyone here have a problem with the way it played out?

Che'_Moderator
i'm never glad to see people die/killed/murdered. Its like all the DUI fuckers. I'd rather see them hit a tree and prune their own family tree than hit an innocent. You cannot save everyone Mike. Not saying its not tragic, but it is reality.
flyfishing3
GZ killed him for his skittles, they need to keep disguising it as something else.
Che'_Moderator
GZ killed him for his skittles, they need to keep disguising it as something else. So you agree that if the story is the way GZ tells it, then it was justified?
