Great friggin work man! Can't wait to see it all finished. Well worth what you paid now huh?

And sounds like a score on the parts, get them from a forum member?

Thank you. WELL worth what I paid :) And yes, he is a member. I forgot his screen name but he is the one who bought Billy's(Greekone) black S70 a while back.

I like! Looking good, I should bring my car out to you if you know some magic for aligning hoods, fenders & latches. Do you have an idea of how long you plan on wrenching on that thing before you possibly put a for salesy sign on?

I have no idea on the time frame. I will just take my time and do it right. I'm not trying to do a quick flip on these R's. It's more of a new hobby for me :)

I have one window panel in the rear that was resprayed sometime in the cars last 15 years, and I can noticed the difference. Before Tom blew up his old Saff he parted, we put his and mine side by each could see a difference in the two cars. All in all its a hard color to match I think. Especially if you look at it every day. But GOOD luck day, shes comming along great and Im glad it didnt go to the grave yard!!!!! SAFF All Mighty!!

It is possibly the same issue that there is with red. I had some work done & some places aren't aware of things like different primers. The darkness / brightness of the primer still shows through the paint even if you think well the paint is covering everything. My car had a bumper replaced, it was OEM but "ready to paint". They just assumed welp fuck it let's paint it up, so they did. It is DARKER red than the actual 601 because under 601 they used a white primer NOT something dark just like what ready to paint bumpers are. Needless to say, it shows through and just as you said I see it every day and I can tell. And the older the car gets the easier it is to spot. I hate it with a passion but other than respraying the whole car there isn't much I can do. Perhaps that helps shed some light one it. If I buff the shit out of the car it is very difficult to tell but as soon as that buff tones down you can start to pick up the different.

Yeah, If you can swing it I'd definitely look into having the whole car resprayed. My C70, was repaired in the front right corner sometime before I got it, they blended pretty nicely down the door, but it's still pretty obvious when the sun hits it right.

I would definitely not want to repaint the whole car. Maybe get the paint scanned by a colorimeter and have it custom mixed if necessary.

Anything to save the oem paint on the doors, etc. keeping as much oem paint as you can is best IMO.

Agreed, nothing like original paint.

Dan, are you looking for a stock headlight, or were they something special? I still have a LH headlight from my S70 kicking around somewhere...

Nice work!!

Joe
