Ghost Shadow
I've wanted train horns for a while now, but there's something in the back of my head that worries me. Let's say another driver pulls a dickface move, and you sound the train horns. The offending driver gets startled and causes an accident, or runs into a guard rail, etc. I think in that situation you could be found liable. Just my $.02. derailing the thread adam....but if thats the case. its you job to go onto lexus-nexus when you start paying for access to find me the case law on that subject. if that was the case then tractor trailers would be liable when they do it. i have no control how you respond to my warnings (train horns), you did not have control of your vehicle that caused you to crash. then if you say that, anything noise can cause you to crash and then blame someone else for your dumb ass failure. train horns are meant to avoid a accident with me, what you do on your own is on you. Legally you're right. It could possibly be forced into a gray area catch-all type law but you wouldn't be liable unless an officer witness it and forced that on you. Morally ... That's a different story. At the end of the day I understand the logic (I grew up in NY). However, I'm not sure that this extreme is right for everyone. I imagine you can FEEL the vibration, lol. I'm pretty sure train horns on passenger cars are illegal in a number of states. Sorry for derailing. Nice install Edit: PA Law: Horns and warning devices. a. Condition of horns and warning devices. All components of a horn or warning device shall be in safe operating condition as described in § 175.80 (relating to inspection procedure). b. Horn and warning device requirements. A vehicle specified under this subchapter shall have a horn or other warning device which is audible under normal conditions at a distance of not less than 200 feet. No vehicle shall be equipped with a siren, bell, whistle or similar device emitting an unreasonably loud or harsh sound except emergency vehicles and vehicles equipped with an anti-theft device. http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/067/chapter175/s175.76.html

My car has a anti theft device LoL.. So are loud exhaust and sound systems. exactly...double standards.. they okay it on motorcycles....now back to your regularly scheduled program!! Here is the job in progress...till completion Pulled all the switches out Took about 1 hour to file down some square holes for these nice switches to install. three switches. 1 for my always on with ignition Rigid Industries D2 blinding lights 1 for compressor on and off with ignition on 1 for horn over ride, switch off regular horn, switch on.....train horns on blast In progress mess Front end all buttoned up, four pretty train horns..music to my ears Battery area all buttoned up ViAir 380C Compressor behind passenger headlight Now I am patting myself on the back for this one. Remote clean filtered air for my air compressor. Now it will work in all weather conditions. Rain, sleet, snow, torrential downpour No problem. ViAir little 1 gallon tank. Another shot of the tank and compressor My three pretty switches!! Another shot of the compressor from the driver's side Tank again Horns again Impressions with this setup? Compared to my other setups? Noticed this 1 gallon will burst blast the horn fast for a good 2-3 seconds and die. BUT, this sucker refills lighting fast..like 15-20 seconds, compared to my volvos setup, i can blast for 10-12 seconds but takes 2-3 minutes to refill. I like this setup better! Flame suit on....bring on the comments!
tuner4life
Love it! I like how it all fits neatly under the hood on that vehicle. No running air lines to the back, and no trying to where to fit the tank. It's all right there and contained.
Gideon35T
Wow, that fit rather nicely. Somebody that doesn't know cars would look under the hood and not even realize. Me likey!
