CabanaFoghat
Octane rating is determined by the specific formula of iso-octane and heptane. The only factor that will make a difference between brands is the type and amount of detergents used in the fuel. The top-tier rating that is used requires regular fuel to contain a specific level of detergent formula, however, premium fuel might contain more of whatever detergent additive is used. Basically what I'm saying is that 93 octane fuel has the same anti-knock properties as 93% iso-octane and 7% heptane, whether you go to BP or Shell or wherever. As long as you stick to the top-tier brands you'll be fine.
