woah4
So... I got the whole car finished. I was ecstatic. Went to pull it out of the garage, and yeah. Turbo is done. Grinding everywhere. BUT here is the interesting part, it is not due to it being an eBay turbo like I first thought, but rather the performance shop I purchased my oil lines from decided that instead of selling me an adapter fitting, they would sell me a double sided plug... my fault for not double checking i suppose, but regardless no flow to the turbo at all beyond what i put in it to pre lube it. I am sort of surprised it lasted as long as it did. So now I have a dilemma, buy another turbo and go for take two, or part the car out and focus on building my 960 up. Thoughts? I've been destroyed by the turbo dying and I am back in school now so I have not had much time or interest to really do anything about it, which is why I haven't posted in awhile. I'll get some carnage pictures later, and no the turbo is not rebuild-able, compressor wheel and housing are both damaged, and it would cost more to rebuild than to buy a new one. Thats it for now! Tightmopedman9
So, just because your $250 e-bay turbo is dead, you're going to scrap the entire car? No offense, but that's pretty damn lame.
woah4
To be honest my interests have changed and I am more interested in a rear wheel drive application now, I have had a great deal of fun with this car and learned an awful lot but I am not sure I know what I want to use it for anymore, I really enjoy drag racing and this car isn't at all ideal for it. I can't have everything and my 960 is in significantly better shape and I believe better suited to what I want to do also. I have put so much money into this wagon and I know I will never recover it but I can stop myself from throwing more away
