That's funny to hear. When I had a black t5r the conversation always went like this: Me: "on my t5r..." Them: "omg you have a t5r!?! Is it yellow!!??!!?!?" Me: "no, it's black. " Them: "oh." The turbo had been put on not long before I got the car, as it had junkyard markings on it. All supporting mods were on there for a big turbo, but the car didn't have one. Must have been changed either to sell the car, or someone didn't know any better when the factory one went. Still so weird Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

woah4 Posted June 23, 2013 Author Report Share Posted June 23, 2013 Yeah my thoughts exactly. I was seriously impressed with the way that car moved though, no lag, and until 100kmh it was pretty quick. No highend boost though, so it died right off after that, would barely hit 200kmh. The engine is a 2.3 HPT though, my first worry was it got swapped with a 2.4 LPT, but I was safe there. Also, it looks like the pan on the engine has been off recently, as it leaked oil around the seal of the oil pan (probably due to using incorrect sealant for installation) so I'm HOPEFULL I will find some goodies inside.. Probably pulled just to replace o-rings or something, but even though the car had a baby turbo on it it had LOTS of supporting mods, and appeared to be set up for something larger, I've had so many surprises with that car so far I'm hoping some rods will be There too lol. I know the last owner didn't seem to care about the car but it seemed somewhere in it's life before I had it somebody had built it up a bit..
