JOHN_CENA Posted June 20, 2013 Report Share Posted June 20, 2013 I had my 1996 854R swapped for an M56H about a month and a half ago. The car runs and drives great. However, I do no have any brake lights. I checked the wiring to the switch, its 2 wires, one yellow and one red wire connected to the 2 prong switch. I tried earlier to see if the spoiler light brake light would come on, it did not. I have not tested the switch. Any ideas? Also, reading codes through VolFCR shows several codes that I forgot at the moment, Ill post pictures in a bit of the codes. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Simply Volvo Posted June 20, 2013 Report Share Posted June 20, 2013 Did you check the fuse? I shorted mine to ground by accident and blew the fuse when i was wiring mine. Try shorting the red and yellow together, the lights will come on no matter what position the ignition key is in. That will rule out the switch. phonsa Posted June 22, 2013 Report Share Posted June 22, 2013 This happened to my 98 C70 and it turned out to be the brake light switch located behind the brake pedal.
