Honestly... if you need a car to park itself... you shouldn't be driving. Just my .02

Absolutely agree. I oppose all such "smart" tech like this and freaking blind spot detection crap and whatever else. Learn to drive and you wont need or even want such items.

Interesting from a strictly tech perspective however. Also, the legal ramifications could get interesting. It should ultimately boil down to driver (observer) responsibility but who knows ...

While the science behind it is neat, this is the stupidest thing ever. If you can't park a car, you shouldn't be driving! It's right up there with the parallel parking programs, lane departure warnings, blind spot warnings, back up sensors, On Star, traction control, and even ABS. They are things that allow people to forget how to operate a vehicle! The only driver aid I like is cruise control. Without cruise control I might end up in jail for speeding lol. People now a days are such bad drivers and most of the reason behind it (besides that people are getting dumber by the generation), is that most of them think that they should be able to drive by never turning their head, never being aware of their surroundings, and letting an inanimate object do all the thinking for them. I can't wait to see all the lawsuits when something malfunctions and these cars park themselves right over top of someones grandma. Personally I am getting a little scared of going outside anymore. I'll keep my older cars that I can drive myself.
