bdimag
Roommate's Volvo -- 98 S70 It looks like there's a puncture there (where the drop is forming) but why is there coolant on the other side? I reached around and it didn't seem like it was traveling from anywhere. Carpet isn't went inside and not an overwhelming smell of coolant... I haven't pulled anything apart yet. thoughts? Kevin.
check all of the radiator hoses. I would also pull back the carpet and look at the heater core. Does the car smell like maple syrup when you turn the heat on?
DAYWALKER
look like is leaking from the front and is blowing toward the rear of the vehicle. pressure test the system if you have a tester. if not top it off and run it at idle and see.
bdimag
hoses seemed OK -- body as well as were they were attached, can't see any liquid traveling to that spot, so it must be on the other side of that? but what's there? this is the only spot it drops, and i've seen this for days, so it's got a nice little canal going somewhere. suppose i could tape it up and see where it goes... or does that just mean it's inside? bdimag
Radiator stop leak worth a damn for something like that? though it is a decent leak...
sjmcarz
I second (or third) the heater core. It's most likely running under the carpet to the rear of the car, and if you pulled your carpet up I'd bet you'd find your padding soaked. Check into that. If it is the core, it's easy to replace if you're handy, an hour job tops. Also check the O-rings for the heater core hoses/tubes , which get replaced anyway when you replace the core. Don't use stop leak. Your best bet for a core if you need one.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-Heater-Core-850-S70-V70-C70-1994-through-2000-MADE-IN-EUROPE-9144221-NEW-/360541751528?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AVolvo%7CModel%3AS70&hash=item53f1f688e8&vxp=mtr They sometimes advertise them for less.
