Blackout Pillars, Rear Bumper Side Skirts And Split Interior (S70 For That)

I kinda like it. The only thing I would change is maybe the A pillar, but you're right, its hard which line to follow on that one. Maybe if you carried it to the top of the doors as well it would make the a pillar blend more.

Makes me think of a sneaky raccoon or something.

Maybe it's just me, but having all of the pillars blacked out makes the car look even longer.

Not really feeling it.

You're correct - it does make the wagon look longer.

Looking at this picture, I feel like it would look sick if you blacked out everything else above the glass besides the roof rails

You mean the door frame and roof edge up to the moulding? That could be interesting....

fugly. too busy. creeping towards bosozoku.

Don't like the red stripes on the rear trim though shape is cool.

Might be ok if the entire top 1/2 of sides were black to rails.

But I love how much you experiment and do so many cool things.

If it grows on you rock it. :)

Put Silver rocker panels on today. Undecided about painting the rear bumper lower section to match. The front bumper continuation was already done.

transferred the R sill plates - that took longer than replacing the skirts

Regarding the A pillar trim: If you were to keep it, I would try to radius the transition on the door frame part so it curves more smoothly to match the bottom edge of the upper door frame. The way it is now, when you look at it from a distance, it's not a smooth curve from the top of the windshield to the bottom of the upper door frame, as there is a funky angle to it. IMO, it should look more fluid.

Yeah - it's even more apparent in the above pic - that would involve drawing the line further back into the upper door frame - I was trying to keep it close to the transition from horizontal at the front. I'm probably going to just pull it off before too long.

Looks awesome Hussein, I like the additional flare on the rear bumper. Now that the rocker panels are painted, it almost looks like you need a set of black lower skirts to fill the gap between the front lip and the rear flare (which looks like a skirt extension). I also think that with the rear rocker painted, it'll look nice with the new painted rockers and match your front bumper.

As for the blacking up the windows, I like the floating effect, however I think the angle on the A pillar is a little strange and with the lines of the doors, it may be better if you also did the top of the doors as well and the window trim between the C & D pillar window. Also something with the D pillar blacked out as well is bothering me as the continuity doesn't seem to flow well to the tinted lights.

^ yeah, it needs altering. I'm thinking of trying the roof covered between the door frame & rails - that would tie into the back section with the taillights.

I may be changing a couple of the doors ( drivers has a few dents, RR paint doesn't match well ), so I'm going to leave the door frames for now.
