Fox News - Sleeper Cars

That's the first time I've ever read anything on a Fox news website where REAL facts were used. Maybe they are turning over a new leaf?

Well, I wouldn't go that far. They have their usual mistakes, and I see 2-3 in the Volvo section.

A cts-v wagon is a sleeper? That thing has haul-ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD written all over it. It looks like it's hauling-butt when it is sitting still. A sleeper car it is not.

Rest easy, they still managed to get their facts wrong. I guess my 99 V70R must be some form of prototype that never made production :blink:

"Launched in 2003, the V70 R (and S60 R sedan) were the most refined of the breed"

Wagon = sleeper

Their car perception seems to be stuck in the 70s.

  • 3 weeks later...

"Beginning with the 1996 850, Volvo built a series of hot rod station wagons (and a few sedans), bestowing them with the R badge." I guess the 95 850 T-5R's are a figment of our collective imaginations or something. Even though they do not have the "R" badge they were still the first "R car".

The CTS gives lots of hints that it's a sports car, namely gigantic brakes and expensive looking wheels (and a rear end the size of a prius).

It's nice to see Volvo get mentioned, but does anyone really care about the 4C suspension? Maybe I'm cynical or listen too closely to Jeremy Clarkson but I thought it was more of a gimmick than anything really essential.

Even though he does like Volvo, never listen too closely to someone trying to entertain his audience as they have been known to lie for etertainment value. He may be correct about the 4C as I have never experienced it myself, but I would be more inclined to believe someone else about it.
