docdec
So I have been attempting to hook up my sub and amp and i have run into some trouble that i can't solve. I used the instructions on the pinned amp/sub install post, with the remote wire going to the antenna but something is still not working. When I hook up all the wiring and turn on the car, volt meter says that 12v are going into the amp but it is not powering up or working at all. Not defective because i just exchanged it for a new amp thinking the one i attempted to install previously was broken. Now it appears that the problem lies elsewhere. Here's the gear used:infinity reference 10" subbazooka mono-channel ampaiwa cdc series HUI know this is kinda vague, but anything that occurs to anyone could be helpful. theunderlord
Ok, let me run down how I'd go about doing it. 12V power: from + battery > in line fuse holder > power to amp. Remote turn on lead:splice line into remote turn on to HU > run that wire to the remote terminal on amp.Amp Ground:biggest, shortest wire you can get > hook up to GOOD chassis ground. RCA (signal) cables:run from HU to amp, away from power wire.this setup SHOULD work. it has for me many times.
850GLT333
So is your antenna connected to you HU? B/c otherwise the antenna wouldnt be powering up. I know you said you have 12v going into it, but i just though i would point this out.
