thunderbirdsc
Can someone ID this wire and what is should go to? Do all the automatic v70's use a alternator with a clutch? You can see in the pictures the color of the wire on one side is a lavender / light purple color while the other side of the connecter almost looks white, but dirty. The car was having a charging issue. The lights would dim and brighten quickly while idling and it will not charge the battery. While I was pulling the alternator I saw this wire with one end broken/clipped and was wondering if this had anything to do with the problem? survolvo
Not sure about the wire, but I don't think thats an alternator. Its a AC compressor.
thunderbirdsc
The alternator mounts right above the a/c compressor. It is removed in the images
Volvometer
it might be dfco(deceration fuel cutoff valve)...on the diagram, it shows violet control wire to that valve... also there is pwm control wire of that color to the rad fan relay...just check voltage on it with key on, off and see if it has anything
