adamdrives
It's not gonna be hard to get to 80, but it's not gonna take off from 50-90 the way 2.3s do. In my experience you get a little less power, but earlier.
dereswyman
Sigh. My tranny just took a dump today too. Probably going into storage for awhile while I figure things out. I need another daily in the meantime. Best of luck with your swap. I'll miss cruising in the Volvo.
Mike_Driver
Disregard what I said, reading threads and posting right when I wake up in the morning is a bad idea. Since you are using your 19T turbo and no the stock LPT or T5 turbo it won't make a real difference which long block you use. The LPT's smaller turbo spools quicker than the bigger T5's turbo and that's where the low end or higher end power comes from.

Kevin.
times like these is why I am glad I moved from the PNW (not really, I want to move back as soon as possible)
goldponcho
Does my car count? Probably shouldn't, I bought it knowing it would have issues. Stupid auto is getting worse, though.
Zappo
Yes, but are these failures from doing stupid stuff, like 3000 RPM clutch dumps?

goobernoodles
Hey that jeep kind of looks like one I used to have. I thought my car caught the Volvo AIDS that's been going around the other day but luckily I had just blown off an intercooler pipe. Didn't think that was possible with my god awful FCP death-grip hoses.

sjmcarz
Good deal! You may need to find a newer style connector for the exhaust cam solenoid and splice it in, as Volvo changed the connector design in 2001-2002. If your original engines solenoid was replaced at some point, the new connector may be already spliced in to your harness. Either that or use your old solenoid but make absolutely sure that it is not contaminated with metal bits from your engine grenading.
FrankenMoose
I do. I ordered a new VVT that has the new connector; and verified yesterday that I have the old connector (the B5244T3 did not come with the harness). Continued break down yesterday. Everything I could get to on the top is removed or disconnected. Just need to get under the car now, and pick up a cherry picker from my friend. Probably pull it in two weeks as next weekend is the wife's b-day,
