Gary has been trolling since about his second post in this thread. Do we need to spell it out for you?

My bet is that Gary is a republican that is tired of the same old stuff and Trump is looking to break the foundation of the whole party. Also willing to bet that Gary isn't a homophobic asshole either

Homophob?  Correct I am not.  Racist?  Also not.  Pot stirrer?  On occasion.  Ready for somebody (trump) to turn over the whole Republican applecart?  Absolutely!

What is this trolling you speak of?  I am not familiar with that term.

I'm glad we've reached a point of understanding on this.  My work is done here.

I wouldn't vote for Hillary unless the worst candidate possible was running against her.  I absolutely despise the woman.  But I recognize actual competence and experience even if I disagree with her politics.  That's what this comes down to.

Your conclusion not mine.  I simply said it was interesting and explained many things.  Is it entirely factual?  It's a he said/she said but it fits the narrative that has come out of other Trumpists and those in his sphere over the last 9 months.

Why does it matter?  Obviously if you think Obama is dumber than an 8 year old then no, it won't matter to you.  If that works for you fine.  Personally I see something different.  I voted for Obama the first time in part because I was disturbed at the possibility of putting John McCain in office - a guy who demonstrated sheer irrationality by selecting a female puppet who was only slightly less incompetent than the Donald for his Vice President. The economy had fallen off the cliff and McCain had no answers to that problem.  Throw darts at him all you want but let's take a look at where the economy and the unemployment rate is today vs where it was when Obama took office. I voted against him in 2008 because I believed Romney offered the best possible option to lead.  He however catered too much to the right wing ultraconservatives and cratered his own campaign.

Experience matters.  Donald has none of it and he has demonstrated no interest in learning about the types of issues the Commander in Chief and leader of the Executive Branch needs to understand.  So would I choose a calculating politician over an ignorant, irrational mouthpiece? Every single time.

As for who wins?  If it's Hillary against the Donald it won't matter how you or I vote.  It will matter what the women and minorities think and with Donald carrying a 75% unfavorable rating with them it's pretty much a slam dunk for Hillary.

I'm in the middle of a lot at work, just wanted to say (not sarcastically) well said. While I don't agree or even understand (I'll ask more later), thanks for the post.

He's been trolling. Trump train? You really didn't catch that? But I think it's because he can't debate well. So he's just trolling instead. Which is funny because it's not far off from what Trump himself is doing. Total lack of substance, while still trying to claim the high ground.

Alain, if Trump ends up being the Republican nominee it will be an interesting time

personally, if it's Trump vs Hillary I would vote Trump. If we are going to let our country go to stuff, then let someone who has promised all of this insane I'm dumb tear it apart. We as a nation have failed when someone like Trump is nearing the Republican nomination and potentially the next president. I understand that it's kinda cynical to say this, but I would rather have the establishment completely torn apart than let someone like Hillary run the show. It's effectively saying that politicians are above the law and that they can buy out elections. Corruption is horrible and I would rather have the ship sink than let these crooked people run our country

If you were even on my radar I would be offended.  Move along child before you get a swift kick.

... hears pin drop....

Gary, in all seriousness, how do you reconcile that wall/fence across 1100 miles of desert?  (I understand there is already 700 miles of it.)

We learn about the Great Wall in China as kids with a certain amount of bemusement, then we cheer when the Berlin Wall comes down, but now we think it's a good idea to cordon off Mexico?  C'mon, man.

And don't get me wrong, Hillary (and co.) represent everything I loathe about politics, and I'm not feeling the Bern, either.

It's obvious we need to change things, but Trump will cement the idea to the rest of the world that yes, in fact, we are the assholes they thought we were.  Do we want that?  Do we care?

My two pennies.

My take on that is.  Name one president that actually did what he promised to do when he was campaigning.  I am confidant that we will be the empty suit that every other president not named Reagan was.  The thing that makes him attractive is the fact that both parties are terrified that the money train will stop if he is elected.

On to the next part of your question.  Will we care what the world thinks?  God I wish we wouldn't.  Its time we stopped worrying about anything outside the continental US that isn't going to harm us. Pull out of the United Nations and turn around and grab our crotch as we leave.   Has there ever been more of a one sided relationship outside of marriage?  Really?

If you're trolling well played. Either way, I agree 100% with everything you just said, especially the 2nd half.

Up until that last post I was.  Well that one and the previous asking fudgie the question he is artfully dodging now.

This is exactly where I figured both of you stood.  There are good historical reasons for not thinking isolationist approaches work.  And given how interconnected the global economies are today there are very significant consequences to deciding we're done here and telling the rest of the world to go pound sand.

So what are you proposing?  So far I've heard drop out of the UN.  I'm assuming there is an intention to change our trade and immigration policies as well since that's what Trump loves to spout. Anything else? What changes would you make?

What does this achieve in your minds? Why are we better off as a result?

There you go again assuming that I have thought that far ahead.  Shame on you Alain.
