BtownVolvo
but no magnet Ya know...I've had a magnet on my plug since I've owned it and I really don't feel like it was entirely necessary. Like, I would understand if it picked up meaningful deposits. But if it's picking up shit worth worrying about, then...well...you've got other shit to worry about. More of a feel-good mod, that magnet. IMO at least.

Scootdiggity
reid very interesting but please write back with a review on if you need adapter and how well the plastic hose connector stays in, because when you look at ad for plastic hose connector it sounds like it is one time use only. I dont think plastic is as sturdy as opposed to solid brass version, also should you still use a crush washer with this piece.

Scootdiggity
You're no supposed to leave the plastic hose connector in it.What I meant by it staying in was during oil draining as plastic connectors like that tend to pop out leaving oil everywhere, and if they are one time use only as in the individual description it says to break it off when done with oil change.Just got confirmation from somebody who has quick drain valve on other volvo site that he has been running since 2012 you do need adapter to run drain plug, he also uses a small zip tie around valve as added measure
Piston Slapper
Ah, yeah... I think I've been spoiled by being able to stand under my car during oil changes. I'm totally getting the valve, but don't see the point of a hose, since I'm positioning a rolling catch barrel under it. And yes, we need a spacer to run it, as has been said already like 3 times. I'd just get the snap ring safety from them instead of having to replace a zip tie every time.
TyConn
How about P2 cars, no spacer needed? Or will my s60R still need it?
andyb5
S60R should still need the spacer, as the pan is the same as on my 99 R
sjmcarz
Neat product, but I'll keep using the old fashioned drain plug. The quarter inch or so of oil that could possibly be left in the pan because of this product would bother me, or do you think that all of the oil will still drain out? Piston Slapper
It's probably more like 1/8", or less, and that's only if you're doing it when the pan bottom is perfectly level. Probably going to be almost as much left anyway during a normal oil change just from surface tension holding some in.

sjmcarz
Don't you jack the front of your car up when you do oil changes? Yes I do,just enough to get under there so maybe most if not all of the oil will drain now that I think about it. Either way, I have no problem with the drain plug and just feel more secure keeping it as it is as far as not worrying about something happening to the drain valve and causing a leak. I know I'm being overly cautious, but rather be that than lose all of my oil if the safety clip fails.
crc1021
I think this is a simple no brainer. You would think something like this would have been everywhere by now. IPD make a magnet that attaches to your oil filter. http://www.ipdusa.com/products/4887/106477-oil-filter-magnet-for-spin-on-filters Best of both worlds!!!
