burnout8488
I'm swapping my 302s from my 99 to the 96 Plat I'm picking up on Sunday. Totally forgot that I put longer brake lines on the '99 and the '96 won't have them. Obviously, my '99 is fine with the longer lines, but I never tested the 302 brakes with the 280mm specific lines. There's a smattering of posts on the interwebs that don't mention anything about upgrading the lines with the 302s, and that they work fine with no length issues whatsoever. Even in Ben's FCP video, there is no mention of swapping lines, and I'd assume there would be a huge amount of negative reviews on their site if people were snapping them. Who's got 302s with factory lines on a 280mm car? Is lock to lock safe, with the suspension sagged, and at normal ride height too? I had a hell of a time doing lines on my '99 and don't look forward to swapping them on a 184K mile wagon that is 3 years older. Even when doing everything correctly with heat, penetrating lube, and flare nut wrenches, the lines still stripped and rounded off. It's something I'll do if there's even a doubt that the old lines won't be safe, but if I can avoid it, I will.
survolvo
I have not had any problems at full lock, or even when the suspension is hanging.
Honeyman
Ditto on '96 and '98.

phunktified
the lines made for 302's are just a little bit shorter but no need to change them
burnout8488
Awesome, thanks for the input everyone. Glad I can most likely avoid line replacement unless they're starting to look deteriorated.
