cruzer555
Yes I searched... Can't find much on 99+ cars though 98s it seems just run rich for a second after it blows off, but I remember someone said it could cause deeper problems with a 99+ like the car idling badly or something. Anyone know for certain from experience if a BOV causes any actual problems on a stock ME7 car? Thanks
S8ET6
These appear to be a good compromise. You'll need to fine tune it to support your boost level though.
cruzer555
Wow nobody has any experience with stock tune ME7s and BOVs?? S8Et6 thanks but not interested in that product, I already have a regular Forge BOV with the Samco hose for my car I just need to know if it'll cause problems should I install it
Kevin.
try it and see what happens?
WayAway
My buddy just put on on his s60R. Car runs fine. Ive ran them on multiple volvo without issues. I had on on my 99 S70 awd. It did stall sometimes but only because the bov was crap.Just make sure you get a decent one not a knock off. you should be fine
Commander Riker
My general understanding is that the ECU expects that air to be returned back to the intake tube post MAF. So, a BOV venting to atmosphere makes that not happen. It's likely minute and your ECU will compensate some for it, I'm sure. You could just try it and see if you like it. Do not think ME7 is much more concerned then previous stock engine managements, is what I'm trying to say.
Stevo11811
it will run rich anytime that valve is open...as it is basically a leak post MAF pretty much 90% of the people i see, audi/volvo/vw run re-circulation style BOV's
cruzer555
Thanks guys, I think I'll just go ahead and install it when I get a chance. Plus I have a Forge CBV too, so if I don't like the BOV I can always switch back and still have forge performance... One more question, anyone know if I can install the BOV and just leave the CBV in place disconnected? Or will boost leak past it even at my stock 10psi? Thanks
WayAway
if you leave the cbv in you need to close the vacuum off
Stevo11811
do you think that if the boost pressure exceeds the spring pressure it would be pushed open... I have a feeling it might? correct me if i'm wrong I have never tried that before.

Gideon35T
I run a Forge Motorsports dual piston (on my S60). The car struggled at first. Wanted to stall at throttle let-off but ME7 eventually adjusted. The only time it's an issue is if I stab the throttle sharply from a slow roll and completely come off the gas. Just be sure not to cheap out a design which might bleed boost pressure. You'll need to setup a quality bov to the boost pressure you're running. As for leaving the CBV you can actually just run both so long as the CBV is in good shape. Under high boost the bov will react faster and vent. Under low boost the cbv will be faster and vent instead. I've ran this setup for 2 years without a single issue and it has no problem holding higher boost. No bleeding of psi should occur so long as both the cbv and the bov are in proper working order and propely setup.
