Not sure I feel the 70 hp Blue Tune difference, but it drives and that has me plenty excited. Its hard to tell on the power cuz the roads are wet and its 23 degrees out right now. I know a guy w/ a wheel dyno, I think I'll give him a shout and see exactly where this thing's at!! For now, I'll be glad to be driving it again!!!

Also, Quicksilver is right; I posted about my woes in the R section. A guy from Idaho was shipped my ECM, and he got mine. That was a good time.

Keep me posted on your progress Kyle (from Idaho)!! You should start a thread here, a LOT of good guys in the know over here!!

Is that second gear 45miles/h at 4700 rpm? Glad is running again!

That was 2nd gear, tires are the stock 16" but that might change this summer :).

Got the interior back together. I wanted to drive it at least 10 miles before I put everything back together because I've done so much to this thing and haven't driven it; wanted to make sure the shift cables weren't going to pop out for whatever reason, and mostly make sure the heater core was good. Going to be weird driving this to work tomorrow, I don't think I've put 50 miles on it since I changed the power steering rack back in September cuz the trans puked right after that went in. Hopefully I don't need to take advantage of my AAA membership!!

Nice getting this together when I did. This Wednesday is the father/daughter dance so I can clean this thing up and take my beautiful 8 year old daughter in style!!

Next up will be the back brakes, then I'll FINALLY get this down pipe that I've had the parts to make since August welded up and put in, then (God willing) it'll be stereo time.

There it is. My first successful trip to work w/out some major catastrophe since the beginning of September. My friend told me the day is young, but I told him he won't steel my thunder. My goal was to spend ridiculous amounts of money on a 14 year old car, and drive it to work once w/out an issue. Based on that, I win; anything beyond this morning is a bonus.

I might try to move the shifter back a 1/2 to 3/4 inch or so, its definitely a little too far forward IMO. Also going to either make or find a charcoal gray suede shift boot and ebrake handle boot. You guys were right too, w/out the reverse lockout 4-5 shifts are basically a non-issue, and 5-6 shifts are definitely a non-issue.

Being December in MI, who knows when I'll get a decent day to whale on this and see what's really up. I babied it all the way to work today (about 30 miles) and it seemed good. I used the 100k mile clutch/pressure plate that was original to the M66 trans and it all feels great (thankfully). I love the spread on the M66 gear ratio too, IMO its perfect. I also changed/fixed the PCV system and so far I don't see any smoke anymore, but its hard to tell because it was 14 degrees out while I was driving it. As far as the heater core fix goes, I'm going to definitely get the firewall coupler and do that the factory way. The rubber heater hoses in the car's cabin stink to high heaven, maybe that will get better w/ time, but definitely don't like that.

I have a Eurosport Tuning cold air intake on it and I think I hate it. I might either source a factory air box or go w/ a BOV. It sound pretty dumb every time I decelerate because I get the wooshing sound that sounds like a dishwasher rather than a turbocharger releasing pressure. Wasn't quite as obnoxious w/ the auto cuz I could ease out of acceleration more, but w/ the manual I get it almost every time I shift. Leaning towards BOV, just because I love the throaty acceleration I get from the cold air intake.

You could swap to the forge piston CBV. It's different sounding.

Congrats on your first drive to work and may there be many more. Good to see the impressions and agree with you about the gearing. It's dead on how these cars should have come from the factory.

Is this the one I want?... http://www.vivaperformance.com/cbv-upgrade-piston-style-mitsubishi-td04hl-turbos-fmdvrmr/

If so I'm ordering today. Maybe this and that R style boost gauge from iPd. Oooohh how my wife hates this car!! She doesn't see it as a beautiful, high performance piece of Volvo art, more like a toilet I throw a lot money into.

The nice thing about the manual swap, is that it's like driving a completely different car! So, you have a 'new' car for not so much money!

Don't think you want a BOV - the system needs a recirc valve to run properly, so the piston CBV makes sense for that.

Is that one I linked a good option or do you have a suggestion?
