99 V70R M66 Swap

Hello,

The Forge valve is an excellent product. I've been running one on my S70 since 2010 and would never go back. Had problems with the rubber diaphragms leaking at the cover (even new). Never have to worry with this one :).

All metal (even the piston), rebuildable, and tunable with different springs. I bought mine from Titan Motorsports out of Florida, definitely recommend them if you don't buy from George ;).

Hope this helps,

Joe

Is this the one I want?... http://www.vivaperformance.com/cbv-upgrade-piston-style-mitsubishi-td04hl-turbos-fmdvrmr/

If so I'm ordering today. Maybe this and that R style boost gauge from iPd. Oooohh how my wife hates this car!! She doesn't see it as a beautiful, high performance piece of Volvo art, more like a toilet I throw a lot money into.

The one I got is for the K24, but is the same thing essentially. Came on the turbo I bought used.

Let's start a 6 speed mafia :)

I'm in on the 6 speed mafia. Meetings are going to be tough to arrange though  . You fly, I'll buy

Father daughter dance was a complete success. The black chariot got us there w/out an issue and my daughter had a great time B)

So I figured I'd start a swap thread. So far all we did was pull it, pulled the ECU and AT computers and we got it on the hoist. We're going to pull the original auto trans today.

This morning so far has been a waist of time. The local yard here that told me they had a 1998 S70 w/ a MT (I need this for the clutch/brake pedals, hydraulic lines and master cylinder) was wrong, after driving 30 miles over there it ended up being a AT. The only yard here that shows a MT is only open M-F from 9-5, so I'll call them on Monday and see if the car is still in their yard.

Can anyone give me some tips on how they mounted the 6 speed linkage and where they routed the cables? My shifter linkage, cables and M66 transmission are out of a 2005 S40 AWD.

I'll be shipping the ECU for the MT program to Lucky at ARD on Monday. I'd like to have him do the blue tune as well, but I won't know until I find out how much I'll end up paying for the clutch pedal/lines/master if that's still going to be in the budget...

Im new here on this forum but have done a 99 xc70 to m66 awd swap to it. a bit of a oh yeah! but i think i can help since i had to figure this stuff out myself. so the linkage and all still run through the same hole. its difficult to get it bolted up but it will. i left the auto Park Neutral Safety. have that in park or neutral.it will start up. i have the ARD 25psi 20T tune and Robert Lucky Arnold will take off the auto trans light. i had no lines for hydraulic slave and all. i can go on if need be. great choice. the 05 S60R w m55 is 258 torque the m66 298. great choice my friend.

Is that one I linked a good option or do you have a suggestion?

why have an audi or volvo if your gonna blow it off to atmosphere? the dont blow it off and recirculate it to keep turbo spooled and to burn off more hydrocarbons for better mpg

Must be 2nd - 45mph is around 4800rpm, depending on your tire size. Good to see it's alive!

Welcome to the forum!

I guess you didn't search much online before doing your manual swap? It's been over 5 years since I did mine, and quite a few others have done the M66 AWD swap over the past 5 years.

did you use the stock v50/s40 shifter cable mounts on the trans or did you have to make a custom bracket?

Everything is stock and came from the 2005 s40 as far as the trans, cables and shifter goes. The install was amazingly pretty straight forward, I was amazed at how well it all bolted up. Just make sure you have everything figured out first, a lot of things I didn't account for when I started this project. I'll do my best to put it all together when I have more time to post a legitimate review so you have all the parts/pieces you'll need in one spot.

The short version is, I LOVE IT!! Now I need to get my cruise working, I'm on the highway a lot and find myself going 90 quite a bit. Also need to get my radar detector wired up.

I know for my manual swap, to get the cruise control working again there was a paticular terminal on the cruise module that I just had to break off. I cannot recall which one it was at this time, however if you do a search, you should be able to find it. I assume your V70 would work similar to my 855R...but I could be wrong.

One more thing - either fill the trans BEFORE you install the mount & bracket (since the fill plug is behind it) OR remove the detent bolt from the top of the trans shifter assy - see here: Nice shiny bulbous nut is what I'm referring to

Fill it slowly

Sorry if this has already been answered, but can you confirm that this bolt can be used to fill the transmission?
