pedro fandango
i bought some second pistons & conrods from i think (not 100% sure) it was a 2004 T-5, i measured the gudgeon pins at 21mm. Looking at the aftermarket conrods on ebay & they say they have a hole in the small-end of 23mm. Is there a bush/shell to go in them, is 2mm play ok or have i got to get new pistons with a 23mm gudgeon pin many thanks Duane
wizzard_al
2mm play is deadly, i.e., your engine will destroy itself in no time at all. You can rebush the rods. I have a set of H-beam rods that were 23 mm ends, and I had them bushed down to 21 mm. That will be cheaper than getting new pistons with 21 mm pin holes. What you might be able to do is simply have the bushings reamed out to 23 mm.
