Its not... back when... but if we... its not so much about... I get, and then they... what happened was... :arob: ... There should be a Pelosi emoticon instead of the retard face.

And no, I don't think burger flippers need to be paid $15/hour. I think any of them that went on strike should get fired. You want more pay, get a better job.

I make 17 an hour as a metal fabricator, a job that requires a good amount of math, manual labor, and a little bit of engineering (Im not just a weld monkey). Peoples lives actually depend on some of the things I make / weld. $15 an hour to heat up some bleached meat and put it between two flavorless pieces of bread is absolutely retarded. I agree minimum wage should be raised slightly to keep up with, lets say, 3% inflation. But $15 is insane. Like Matt said, a minimum wage job is just a stepping stone, its not meant to keep you employed for more than 4 years (AT MOST). What about older people who didn't have the opportunity to go to school and have to work a minimum wage job? I might sound like an ass, but thats life and life isn't really fair. There are so many things that are unfair in this world, we can't possibly help to change it all.

Most cops and firemen start @ $15 an hour.. EMTs start @ $12-13.

But the moron at the counter at McDonalds who doesn't even have to know what numbers are (just push the button with the picture of burger or fries etc) deserves $15?

If they should get $7 more an hour than so should everyone else with an hourly position.

No way are some of the morons who work for me even worth $10 (some aren't even worth employing haha)

Honestly... for 15/hr id likely quit my job lol.

Less work.

Less stress.

More pay.

Night shifts.

Yeah id prob finish a degree and start another with something like that.

With that said.

If a dumbass behind the register at mcdonalds makes more then me id flip shit. seems lately they are dumber then ever. <_<

I worked in fast food for 3 days... told them to keep the paycheck, because I quit. The most valuable thing I learned is that isn't what I wanted to do with my life.

That's the whole point of minimum wage jobs - to teach you what you don't want to do for such little money.

Wholesale retail fishmonger, carpenter, life guard, delivery guy, and telemarketer. That was enough to cure me.

I worked at a dine in Pizza Hut in my teens, loved that job. Super busy, but waiting tables was a great way to meat girls. Then the unlimited beers on tap after hours...

Pun intended?

Also, I was unaware that attractive women frequent pizza hut.

No pun; not sure what it was about the one I worked at, but super busy in the middle of the shopping mecca of Grand Rapids. It wasn't always hot chicks everywhere, but I definitely got some numbers.

After the re-read, I get it (meet vs meat). No pun, I'm just retarded :arob:

The main argument behind raising minimum wage, or burger flippers demanding higher wages, is that it has not kept up with inflation. Theoretically, if a fry flipper can command $15/hr, then all other jobs would adjust accordingly. The talent from lesser/equally paid but more skilled jobs could threaten to go work at McD's unless they get a comparable raise.

I see that; but that's probably not how it'll play out. Who do you think's going to pay those higher wages? The company owner? Maybe a little bit, but it will probably reflect more on the cost of goods.

Labor anywhere hasn't kept up w/ inflation, everyone makes less money unless you're a CEO or likewise, and that's the majority of the reason for why. Someone out there is getting the money, but it's not the employees.
