That was for comparison's sake only. My Truck is SB, regular cab and stripped. Even trying I can't pull 21 and it's the lightest f-150 there is.. I couldn't pull 21 with a Dakota v8, a Chevy 4.3 or a Dodge 4.7. 21mpg is midsize territory, not 1/2 ton.

He's not going with calculated mpg anyway. If he went that way he'd find the realistic value, you and I both know there's no way an Avalanche is going to pull 21.

I'll eat my words on this one.....

In may I took my 300c in for an oil change after hounding my wife for a month to do it. They had a couple of V6 Ram 1500 4-door Crew Cab 4x4's sitting on the lot, so I looked at them and took one for a ride. Not loaded but not stripped, a relatively large truck with a 305hp/269ft-lbtq V6. The inside is bigger than my 300c by a longshot. So, in a complete dick move I traded the car in for the v6 truck. My wife really loved that car, but she would never take it in for oil changes..plus it was my birthday. So I didn't say anything, I just bought the truck and drove it home. She was pissed off, but whatever that's what she gets.

Calculated mileage on paper with the first few tanks was anywhere from 17.5 to 22.7. 22.7 was done on an all highway trip to the west side of the state keeping it at 77, 17.5 was mixed. Today I took a fucked up drive of 178 miles with bumper to bumper for 30+ miles, a little city and the rest highway doing 80-85. I pulled 21.3, which is pretty impressive for a full-size 4x4. That's about what the C got all the time and slightly better than our Wrangler with the same engine.

No idea what an Ecoboost v6 or GMC v6 gets, but it looks like full size non-diesel trucks are in the 20's on real mileage.

So was the 300 the wife's daily driver?

That would so not go over well with my wife.

Yep. I rarely drove it, it was a bit too "Hood". Black and chrome from top to bottom with illegal tinted windows. It didn't go over well at all, but my wife was spoiled as a child so I do what I can to try to reverse that. She's still pissed off a little bit but she mostly got over it. Most of my time spent driving it was turning the traction control off and doing donuts in parking lots or just driving like an asshole. It was a nice car, fast and comfy but useless in the winter.

Cheap to maintain...except suspension parts were expensive and didn't hold up well on our roads.

The Pentastar v6 in the Dodge is no slouch. When I was looking for my Challeneger, I considered getting the v6 after driving it - enough power to still get in you in trouble around town and really good mpg in those cars. I ended up getting the R/T Hemi, just because they are fun and I got a really good deal on it. Sometimes I regret it when I see the fuel gauge go down too quickly. Lol

Omg, you're my role model.
