pinky
Quick recap of setup. I cut the header flush after the collection so it equaled 2.25”. I made a 2.5” flex pipe/downpipe to Racing Vibrant cat to oval Magniflow straight through muffler. This was WAY too loud so I added a jones resonator directly after cat and before oval Magniflow. This helped a lot and I used this system for about a year. It became increasingly annoying when going up hills at 35mph and cursing at 55-65 due to a drone (resonance). I added a round Magniflow muffler at the back of the car that helped a little, but not as much as I thought it would. I then added a 90 degree down turned tip and that helped more than I thought it would. I used this setup for about a year. This brings me to now and I feel it is louder than I would like. Not sure if it is me becoming older or the mufflers/cat/resonator breaking down and flowing more, but it seems louder. When cruising at 70-80mhp 2750-2900rpm it is great, I love it. For a daily driver, it is too loud around town. I am thinking of putting the stock muffler back on or doing something else to make it quieter. This is where you come in and tell me ideas and thoughts. My thought is that my car is naturally aspirated and any performance I gain from my exhaust system is pretty much null. If I keep my 2.25” flex/downpipe and Vibrant cat and then run it to a stock muffler I would acquire what I desire, a more flowing but still quite system. Getting a stock muffler from a junk yard would be cheap and it would mount easily. I would still run 2.25” to stock muffler and maybe until the tip. When I go to local junk yards to acquire a stock muffler I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between turbo, none turbo, R’s or any other year/make/model that would flow more but still bolt to a NA 850? Thoughts, ideas, donations of stock muffler in good shape?
pinky
I have learned that 850 turbo and 850 R have the same muffler and that the turbo mufflers likely have higher flow since it was that way in the 240's and 740's

FCP Euro
Do you have a Turbo 850 or an NA 850?
