lookforjoe
Now you should order two IGBT-s if you have used the other pair already. Also dont't forget the insulator sheet under them. 10) Still unclear on the precise function of the IGBT other than to provide 12v output on pins 36-34, 36-36. If that's all they do , I don't need them. Do you know exactly what the FET/IGBT does if it's not just a simple switch? If they are simply switches to provide the vBat to the coil packs, I can just jumper the board, and not be any more concerned about it.

NitroX5
Hussein: It was unclear for me as well, it looks like that is no purpose on our config to mount that 2 IGBTs. I run the coils from external power source also. Even the manual said, without any driver, you get 8 5v logic output... so yes, its designed like that. In 2010 I ordered a bare board but without any support or modification on it. I have to implement every hw settings by myself. Recently I bought a new boxed, prepared unit. As I saw in other cases, VEMS not always setup your board 100% when you just say Volvo xy... stock coil...etc. Don't have enough information or experience about volvo engine configuration. So the hw setup may worth a re-checking, IMO. You will save time, when you want to first start the car, but it doesn't because the trigger setup is not properly set up on the board previously. (and I just spotted that solder bolb is missing) Since 2010 they support improved, also the boards base hardware config has changed. Trust me, after set every parameter right in the software and get it run, takes a lot PITA, ... this is why I create this thread. Will update the first page with the necessary informations. Tightmopedman9: Here is my current map, engine only runs till 150 row. Still chasing for cruise numbers... IDLE has been set quite well. Timing 14-16° at 28-29 MAP (much better vacuum than Motronic), also this provides the lowest EGT temp.

Mine is from 2012, I specified VR primary/Hall secondary. I ran the backside wiring accordingly, based on the VEMS genboard3 build & test guide. I'm just going to add the bridges from the gate to the econoseal output connection as specified. Adding the IGBT's seems pointless and will be difficult since I epoxied the wiring on the board connections. Stupid thing to do, but I didn't want the connections to move. Live & learn. I decided after doing this one that I would just buy a complete one if I ever did it again, way too much work even though I like a challenge - in part because the documentation is so spread out & difficult to access.
