Kevin.
I'm looking at replacing most of my rear suspension that is still original, which would include the trailing arms. Is there anything else that I would want to replace once I'm in there? And are the delta links the same as the trailing arms? Thanks for the help http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=233596&ukey_make=865&ukey_model=11966&modelYear=1997&ukey_category=7890&ukey_driveLine=11319&ukey_trimLevel=11028 so would I be looking at getting 2 #2's and 2 #6's? Keaton85
Are yours bad or are you just doing it for fun?
Kevin.
Everything up front has been replaced already, I just want to finish the suspension refresh. I've been looking at these diagrams and talking to people that have replaced the bushings and I might just buy both lower control arms brand new so I can just swap the old ones out for the new ones and be done with it
Keaton85
Two of these: http://m.eeuroparts.com/Parts/7142/Support-Arm-Link-Rear-3516122/ Then one of each of number 6. Personally I would not touch it if they are still in good shape. This is an area that you replace WHEN it goes bad. As they can outlast the car sometimes. You may end up biting off more then you can chew. The rear can be a real pain so make sure you budget a lot of time if you do end up doing it. BlackBrick
you'll want the Volvo puller to get those delta links out of there.
James A Sousa
Kevin - Before you think about taking your rear suspension apart, check EVERYTHING - one of the issues that convinced me to part with my '96 855R was rusted anchors in the rear suspension. They could not be adjusted and ate 17 inch tires. The car wore 15 inch snow tires evenly, 16 inch tires a bit, but ate up the Prada Spec2s on my Volans. BTW I loved those tires, AND they had a decent load rating.
