Jack8745
I was thinking of splicing in the new connector to the harness. That way when I need a new sensor I can just plug it in rather than splice in the new one
RobT5M
Could do that too. Easy when engine is out. Was just one of those things I didnt think about whioe mine was out.
lookforjoe
The fact that the newer sensor worked OK for you doesn't mean it is appropriate or will work properly for others. You are forgetting that the variance in resistance will alter fuel trim at lower temps & possibly lean out up top. Without data logging, there is no practical way to see the changes in a warmer climate. On that note, since you live in a warmer climate, it is unlikely you would experience the potential flooding & washing down of the cylinder walls with gas that could occur with a higher than expected resistance value at much colder ambient temps. So, you can say it seems to work OK - for you, under the specific conditions in which you operate your vehicle. It si not wise to suggest that it is a good idea for anyone else, unless they also live and drive in similar ambient temps .....
RobT5M
Worked great and didnt see anything abnormal on logs or wideband in 20-100f ambient temps. Eh I read quite a few others up north and across the country that did the same thing. Figured it to be the norm. Edit. Op if you want to skip the drama just swap your necks if the eng is still out of the car. I
Tightmopedman9
I say try it and data log it, you can use OBDII if you don't want to go the custom logging route. If it ends up not not working though it'll be way more of a bitch to deal with while the engine is in the car.
