Mattbchillin
With 3 homeschooled children (18 months, 7, 11) and a 50 hr week job and wife working. Time is of the essence, so im paying for convinence and if by chance I do need the seals and clips, then its there and im not screwed. I WISH I had a lot of time to work on my car but family comes first, so having everything I need and getting a few hours to do what I need to do will be great. Mattbchillin
ETS light came on. The last 2 days of going to work, it would start to heisitate right as i got near my work, 45 minute commute. It would get jerky shifting around 20 mph. Then today on way to work the ETS light came on. It drove fine home, cruise worked and no weird issues.
JRL
You need to get the codes read. It could be a brake switch, that too will cause that light You may need an ETM, you may not!
Piston Slapper
Could also be the pedal itself, that's not unheard of. Need to be hooked up with VIDA/DICE and properly diag'd. Also, out of curiosity, why can't one do a proper flush on these trans? We do them here like any other trans, hook up a flush machine between the trans fluid output and the cooler input, let the transmission's own pump cycle out of the old fluid and suck in the new... seems to work great. Only need to add through the dipstick tube if the fluid level is low.
Mattbchillin
It was the ETM. Replaced and everything is working great. Im planning on using Mobil 3309 for the flush. Whats everyone else use? Can I also use this in the power steering?
NEU
I use Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF in my AW55. You can use Toyota T-IV too, it's cheaper then Volvo fluid.
Mattbchillin
So ended up draining and filling the transmission. I measured everything I took out and put that exact amount back in. Car ran the same Then I checked the levels of the transmission dip stick at the hot marker and it was 2-3 times higher then the hot line. I ended up taking almost 1.5 liters of fluid out to get it to land on the HOT mark on the dipstick. Car runs 4 times better then it did. After some research I found out running more tranny fluid then needed will cause issues I was getting. I plan to do one more drain in the fall. So check you fluid!!!
