Kevin.
Already posted this on my FB, just wanted to get more opinions from everyone if this is a sticky lifter, what the best remedy for it?
matt b
Oil level ? Oil temp when you revved it ? When was the last time the PCV was done ? If you have a sticky lifter, change your head. Try a few seafoam treatments first, at this point you'd have nothing to lose.
Kevin.
oil was 2 quarts low topped it off and drove it tonight and the noise continues. PCV is about a year old but Im changing my oil tomorrow so I'll see what happens

Kevin.
Ok, I get that I need to check ny oil more often. I was planning on getting some cheapo oil and some seafoam to see if I could fix the issue. That or some ATF
quiksilver
How long were you driving around with 2/3rds of normal engine oil capacity? I don't even...

Dick Dastardly
He wants to hear that it's rods Everyone on FB was telling him its lifters too. But he's not happy with that answer. Kevin, how long were the lifters clacking while you were driving around not paying attention?
Burn-E
Do the due diligence Kevin. Is it constant? Do you ever not hear it? Because yours sounds just like mine does occasionally when it's been sitting cold over the weekend and I first fire it up. What about the oil sump and the o-rings? Screw it, I'm not going to pretend here...you drove it really low on oil, you've probably got a cruddy sump now so the oil isn't getting to the top. Lifter tick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XE5vvi9hfg Same as yours...

Kevin.
I noticed it the first day it made noise, 3 days ago I'm going to change my oil today and order up a oil pan o ring kit
Kevin.
It's constant, goes away while I'm on decel for a few seconds then comes back. It got quieter after I topped off the oil but it's very noticeable.
