Ipd Hd Subframe Bushings?

Anyone running these? http://www.ipdusa.com/products/6305/112765-hd-front-subframe-bushing

I'm contemplating buying yother/kaplhenke delrin bushings, (which is better?) but I'm wondering about the added vibration. How bad is it? I have no plans of tracking the car and I want it to be comfortable, so the IPD hd's sound like they might be a nice compromise.

I have them. In combination with my Koni STR.Ts and iPd Blues I think they add a nice bit of absorption to road bumps. Added vibration? I wouldn't say they do at all, not like the poly engine mounts that definitely add some vibration you can feel in the cabin.

NVM. Thought you were talking about the inserts not the bushings themselves.

I am 99% sure hes just refferring to the inserts vs the CJ/Ben full replacement style

I have CJs bushings and they really didnt add much/any extra vibration to the rest of the car. And I have ALL poly mounts, they were one of the less noticeable ones I swapped. I also have coilovers spun down low so its as bad as volvos get and I still DD it no problem.

Oh. Those. Yeah, not really 'HD' or an IPD product... they're just XC90 scantech bushings, FCP has them too. http://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-suspension-subframe-mount-bushing-front-xc90-8678497

Wouldn't really make a difference vs new stock ones and getting them from IPD is definitely not worth it.

Interestingly enough, those are factory bushings and not an aftermarket brand. They are the firmer HD version use in the XC90 as well as an upgraded unit used in the fleet vehicles like the taxis and police cars used abroad.

I'm well aware of what they are, they're also standard on diesel P2 models. The ones that come in scantech packaging for that part number are OEM, same material, same casting marks, etc, they just don't come in Volvo packaging. They're 100% identical to what you're selling for twice the price. You of all people should know that OEM doesn't mean Volvo, it means whatever manufacturer Volvo buys them from and they don't sell exclusively to Volvo.

When it comes to rubber molded products, just because it looks the same doesn't mean it is the same. Volvo has certain QC standards and materials requirements that aftermarket brands like scantech don't.... so even if they use the same tooling and same molding equipment does not mean they will get the same product if the process and compounds are different.

It's not like Volvo made a batch and then sold scantech the tooling and they made a crappy version... they're from the same production runs, just not marked up as much.

Let me give you a hint, Volvo doesn't make any of them.

Stuff like that is always subcontracted in the automotive industry to specialty suppliers.
