Ipd Hd Subframe Bushings?

You of all people should know that OEM doesn't mean Volvo, it means whatever manufacturer Volvo buys them from and they don't sell exclusively to Volvo.

Let me give you a hint, Volvo doesn't make any of them.

Stuff like that is always subcontracted in the automotive industry to specialty suppliers.

Thank you Captain Obvious for helping me disprove your own previous post. The "IPD HD" subframe bushing, a 8678497 in a Volvo bag and a "Scantech" 8678497 subframe bushing in the scantech bag are identical products from the same manufacturer. The branding means nothing and you're just paying a premium for the same product in a different baggie.

Per World Pac, Febi Bilstein is the OEM supplier. Febi number 22955. My guess would be scan tech makes a super cheap knock off or re-boxes from Febi (most likely)

My understanding is that Volvo has never purchased parts from scan tech/ pro parts sweden.

Scantech doesn't make shit, neither does world pac. They buy from manufacturing plants aka subcontracting. They can and may buy from the same plants from time to time but if they have different material and QC requirements you will get different results.

Scantech could buy from the same exact manufacturing plant but if they spec substandard materials and processing techniques to cut cost the quality will and does suffer. Automotive manufacturers will require a certain amount of virgin material and make sure that all the parts pass certain QC tests per each lot to verify them. A low cost distributer like scantech does not have the same level of QC and material requirements as the OG manufacturer will.

Anyone running these? http://www.ipdusa.com/products/6305/112765-hd-front-subframe-bushing

I'm contemplating buying yother/kaplhenke delrin bushings, (which is better?) but I'm wondering about the added vibration. How bad is it? I have no plans of tracking the car and I want it to be comfortable, so the IPD hd's sound like they might be a nice compromise.

The only added harshness or vibration I noticed when installed my bushings was that you can a subtle engine vibration at idle. When your moving it goes away.

I agree with all of your statements, I was simply using world pac as a reference not implying they manufacture the parts.

Yea, I read it that way too. I guess the main comment is Volvo would never buy from scan tech because they don't actually make anything.

No one ever said Volvo bought from Scantech, just that they both bought the same thing from the same place and Volvo marked it up more.

Well that's most items.

Yeah... then why is this such a hard concept to grasp for some people?

Cool thanks. Just hoping I don't regret solid mounts now.

I'm glad this subject came up. I've concluded in the past few weeks my subframe bushings are definitely on the way out. For the work required, I'm leaning towards solid mounts so I dont have to do them again anytime soon.

Please post your results/thoughts on the mounts, I'm sure it could help me decide if the solids would be too harsh. Thanks!
