ConorV70R
alright so i'm having an issue where when i start my car and drive it right before it gets warm, the turbo seems to really kick and if i lay into it i get the best boost and power ever. then the car gets up to temp and just seems to fall flight on it's face. i manage to usually get 2-3 amazing pulls while the car is cool (temp gauge about quarter of the way up to temp) anyone have a clue what this could be? burnout8488
1) Stop beating on your car until it's up to temp 2) See #
ConorV70R
i'm not even close to beating on it. it's warmed up for a few minutes and what i'm saying is i can feel the boost at 21000 rpm very strongly and its strong until it shifts (no wot at all or even close to it). i'm no dumb dumb about letting my car warm up i'm usually the one screaming at other people for starting it putting it in drive right away and hauling ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD away. the only thing i've had a cel for is an evap code. but i get it cleared would that by chance be it? I stand corrected! Evap codes don't usually slow the car down any, not in my experience with them at least. For a baseline, try running the stock TCV. Check wastegate arm pressure. I'm just shooting in the dark at this point though.
ConorV70R
I can toss the stock TCV on and see how that goes. but heres the kicker. yesterday i pop the hood and see the waste gate arm has come off! so popped that back on and parked it until i can get a clip to secure it. car was JUST in the shop having work done and i know this couldn't have been off for long since i peek under the hood just about every other day. ConorV70R
also going to check to make sure the TCV lines are all correctly in place
ConorV70R
got a cotter pin and re attached the waste gate rod, unplugged the battery and let it sit for 20 minutes. reattached the battery started it and drove it and it's been perfect so far

NEU
You'll need to get about 20mile under your belt before it "relearns" everything. It could be cycle dependant too, ie how many times you start and shut down. When I reset the ECU, I have to do a 20mile run to see if everything is OK. Plus when you do that you can also reset the trans adaptors, but if it was shifting good before you might be OK
ConorV70R
trans shifts smoothly, also forgot to mention i cleaned the mass airflow sensor along with everything else. wondering if part of it could be that since i tossed a K&N in it a couple months back and some of the oil may have gotten onto it
NEU
Yeah you don't want to over oil the filter, it will kill the Mass airflow sensor sooner when it sucks in the exsess oil.

burnout8488
Normal K&N filters won't come close to damaging anything. The only reason they're dangerous is when the user over-oils them. (And even then, I think it's been disproved that filter oil does anything to MAF sensors) If you didn't do that, then the filter had nothing to do with it.
