Matching Wheels To Fender Lip

Hello everyone,

I actually just registered, so greetings to all of you here at volvospeed. smile.gif

I´m sorry I dont have URL of my C, to put inside the text, instead I hope you will be fine with link http://w1zzar3.rajce.idnes.cz/nasten...328_175433.jpg

What I would like to ask around here is following:
I use non original wheels by AEZ, model Icon 5 18" and ET is imo 43 (tires 225/40), nonetheless every C has pretty holed up wheels, extremely at the rear, even though it has 5cm wider rear axle than V/S...
I´m looking for a solution how to make them along with fenders, or at least not that much holed up without using spacers
this brings me to a question, does any of you know, what ET do I need (yes I would buy different wheels, even considered trying 17") to match the fenders, without other problems comming up (brakes/springs/fender hitting) ?

And if this doesn´t work out, I´d go with the spacers, then my question is following: how thick to the front and to the rear ? To me, it looks like front could use 0,5cm and rear even 2cm thick.

BTW in case of wheel change, I´d like to stick to original 7,5 width, it´s what C70 should have and what I currently got.

Thanks everyone for any advice,
Kriss

PS: I did some basic searching so I dont double post etc. and didn´t find my answer but as I said - basic, so please, if I´m about anything that´s been said a million times here, dont hate, just repost or something. Thanks :)

Or I´m fine with any method you suggest to do the measuring myself, is the following thesis right: If I currently have ET of 43 and add 8mm worth (something) between the wheel and the hub, would it equal to ET35 ?
