T-5Bandit
I have 20% all around, no issues with seeing out of the car at night. Visibility issues don't generally become a problem until you get to 10% or lower ("limo" tint). I like all the windows the same tint shade. It looks goofy to me when the front windows are a noticeably different shade, like 35% front and 20% or lower on the rest of the windows.
SVTGuy02
For the wagon you'd clearly have to do 7 windows..... roughly what did you guys end up paying for that? How difficult is it to DIY it? I know not all things can be DIY'd but what issues could I run into? Thinking about it......... but would definitely like to get the proper tools
Timbo Slice
It all depends on where you go. When I had a few sedans done in the past, it's generally $250-300 (my S60 was $300 about 8 months ago). For a wagon, figure adding another $50 to that price just to be safe. There are a few places around here that would do it for almost half that. 150-
kalvin
I paid 200 for 20% fronts and 5% everything behind the driver. I liked taking mine to a shop because 1) super cool to do business with 2) they had a lifetime warranty on the install on top of the manufacturer warranty
Timbo Slice
Mine was done at a higher end shop in Cleveland (my S60R was quite honestly the cheapest car in his facility) so knowing that I felt comfortable going there. I'll have the car for a long time and it gave me peace of mind that I had it done right, though most other shops I checked out were around the same price in this area. 3M and the job was done very nicely. Brad850
Have any of you guys had issues with the rear defrosters? Or should a good shop be able to work with them
kalvin
The only issue I ran into with rear defrost was when I foolishly tried to remove old tint from my first replacement hatch. Ripped some of the defrost lines right off. The shop told me to just bring it to them next time.
lookforjoe
I went with same tint all round, think it was 20% - next darker was limo grade I like the uniformity. Depending on the angle, you can't see into the front As a result, I get grief all the time, from local cops especially. I keep a spare set of front stock tint glass for such occasions, as NY law gives you 24 hours to remove & show proof (take car to police station). Since swapping glass only takes an hour if you're slow about, I've been willing to deal. Now I'm thinking about re tinting in a more legal level just to reduce the hassle. Brad850
Only 24 hours? The cop that pulled me over for my tinted s70 was acting like I shot someone. That was 6 months ago and haven't gotten shit since.
