matt1122
Here are the interior shots. Just copy/pasting this from the SS thread, but the damage is there. Here's the interior, starting with my dash setup:Here are two closeups of the mix of materials in the nubtex interior trim. Here, you can see the early damage to the leather. It's also on one of the closeups of the passenger seat, above. One of the details that I found interesting is the split sill mouldings. They are actually two pieces in two different finishes, not just one piece with an etched line. It makes a nerve-wracking crack sound if you step on it.I'm a big fan of the standard equipment sunroof noise-reducer thing and cargo area net and under-cargo-floor tray. Here are a few pictures of the radar detector "install".I simply tucked the cable and ran it to the back (long straight cable). It is only visible in two places, which I really like.I like how the Escort Sticky Cup looks from the outside, much better that the standard suction-cup mount.I also picked up these to hold my easy pass and parking garage pass for work. The beige passes clashed too hard with the headliner.
JOHN_CENA
Man I love those seats. Shame that Volvo decided to cover up the T6 with so much plastic though.
matt1122
Yeah, I wish the engine bay looked better. From what I understand, all that plastic is insulative to let the engine warm up more quickly.

matt1122
Yeah, someone on SS said it's normal looking, but I don't know. I've seen a lot of Volvo's with horribly cracked seats, but none of my cars have ever even gotten this bad with just a conditioning every 6-12 months. This leather is softer, but still. It shouldn't look like that after just 3,000 miles IMO.
aldebaran
The build quality has gone way, way up over the past 5 years. I'm actually extremely impressed and was shocked to see something so well built from Volvo last year when I test drove an XC60 RD at the open house. Others are finding they have door rattles from the get-go due to some sort of clip issue in the door pannels, but after it's fixed they're alright. I'm having three issues that may need warranty repair. 1. Sideview mirrors are not dimming 2. Driver's seat has premature aging already 3. Instrument cluster has shut off a few times while driving. Moving the shifter to N and back to D makes it flip back on. I may wait for first service to deal with either of these and am considering whether I want to start conditioning the leather more often (I've already done it twice in two months) or just making a warranty claim on #2 as so many other people have. Nice car Matt. Glad I got to see it in person. I'm going to keep an eye out for these issues but I haven't experienced anything like that. About the premature leather wear. Are you speaking about the creasing or is it actual abrasion/scuff type wearing of the surface and discoloration? I have a few creases around the seat area, but I believe it is just the nature of real leather. If it were pleather, it would be different. They may even be off. The cluster thing has not happened in a month, not sure what that was. I also don't have the leather problem anymore after a good conditioning. I think the stock conditioning job was just poor and that it needed a deep conditioning. It was hard to do without getting it all over the nubuck textile. Hopefully, it won't come back. It was a little worn though, not really creased. It's hard to see in the pictures. There was a strong change in sheen between the spots showing the wear and those that weren't. I use Lexol and it has kept my 10 year old leather in my S40 supple to this day. Travis, I felt the same when I first saw those wheels on my car, but it has grown on me. matt1122
I like the wheels, but I would like to get a set of 19" Bor's like BMO Pete @ Swedespeed has on his Rebel Blue. I think they'd look crazy good with Electric Silver. Problem is they're about $2,000 before tires.
