Alternator Issues

My car was sitting for about a month in December (in the South) and would not start. The dealership got the car running again, but it's since been running rough at idle (dimming lights, as well). I brought it to AutoZone and they tested it. The battery is fine but they said the alternator was not cranking any voltage. When I get it going, she runs okay and the lights do not dim. Does this sound like the alt is dying? I bought it from a store in Atlanta about 4 months ago.

Thanks

Well if they said the Alternator is not making any juice, then yes it is your problem.

if your alternator is toast, then your car will run for about 3 days then die due to a dead battery. If your car doesn't die every few days, then your alternator most likely isn't charging very well, but is charging some and may be fixable.

Right, my concern was not if something is wrong with the alternator, that is obvious. Rather, my concern was if the problem is terminal or not. It's under warranty so I guess I'm going back to the vendor. Last alternator I owned (in October) had the voltage regulator go, so my luck is not so great.

Thanks, man.
