Street Legal Mufflers :(

Do you need to pass DMV inspection or were you given just a ticket? Personally I'd just make it quite enough to pass then go back to normal. That thing sounds awesome... I have your exact setup (non dual obv) and have only gotten pulled over once in the 10 months I've had it. Hondas and bikes go by loud as hell and the cops don't say anything. Wish they were more understanding when it came to performance orientated Volvos...

I've been stopped several times for the noise level, just not by local cops until this one. It is frustrating since there are many 'hot rods' and Harleys in my area that make significantly more noise.

I get compliments literally every day on the way it sounds.

In any event, a local cop gave me the ticket, he pulled me over after I drove past him pulling away after an intersection, going uphill in 2nd gear, around 4K rpm with a four adults in the wagon. The judge of the local court is not known for leniency.

Did the piggy actually measure it with a decibel meter or just write you a ticket because he felt like it? If it's the latter, you can probably fight it and win.

Not worth fighting - if it were tested with a meter, no way would it pass. I've added baffles to both outlets that has reduced the low level resonance, and made the drone mostly go away. I'm pleading not guilty, and if they don't like the way it sounds with the baffles, I'll just have to have a new rear section made with 3 chamber mufflers. it's not like I can avoid them, the police station is right near my brothers house & I drive by them several times a week. It's a young peckerhead that wrote the ticket - I've had this setup for several years now, and no local cop has bothered me about it before.

Ahum...I owe a 1982 Shovelhead Harley.... nothing wrong with the music it makes though ..... :)

theres nothing wrong with the music your bike makes, just as theres nothing wrong with the music our cars make. Quite unfortunate the bias that there is with that, but I digress.

Really hope you don't have to go through extreme measures to settle this. good luck H.
