golhon Posted February 10, 2005 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 I am trying to install a new aftermarket CD receiver into my 2000 Volvo S80 2.9. The S80 has premium factory sound system in it (HU-801 CD changer with Dolby ProLogic and an external amplifier under the passenger seat). Because my new receiver has pre-amp outputs (6 RCA outlets on the back panel) I'd like to keep using the existing amplifier. There is 6-pin DIN cable going from the amplifier to the HU-801 and I have to come up with some sort of adapter to connect the RCA outlets with the DIN cable. But maybe someone knows the place where I can buy this kind of adapter cable? I couldn't find such a thing anywhere I looked. If it can't be purchased, then I was wondering if anyone has the schema of what all the individual wires in the DIN cable are? Which one is rear-left, which one is front-right and so on. Or maybe it is all standard? Please help, any information will be greatly appresiated. Thanks in advance!PS Sorry if all this questions are dumb -- I am novice in all this car audio stuff... I BOUGHT A 2000 VOLVO S80 2.9. IT HAD AN AFTER MARKER RADIO. I REMOVED IN AND PURCHASED OEM HU-810 6 DISC CD PLAYER. I HOOK UP THE PLUGS IN THE BACK BUT HAD NO SOUND. I LOOKED WHERE THE AFTER MARKET RADIO WAS AND SEEN A BUNCH OF CUT SPEAKER WIRES. LOOKS LIKE A FACTORY PLUG WAS CUT FROM ALL THE WIRES. I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO HOOK THEM UP TO. ANY IDES? I WAS TOLD TO LOOK FOR A FACTORY AMP UNDER THE SEATS. DID NOT FIND ONE. WHATS NEXT. ANY WAY TO SPLICE THE SPEAKER WIRES TO THE OEM VOLVO RADIO? PLEASE HELLP. I JUST PAID $300 FOR THE EOM VOLVO RADIO.
