JOHN_CENA
Ok, so I decided to start a thread tracking any modifications / maintainence done to my VR. I know if I keep it locally on my computer I will somehow manage to erase it like a tool, so, uhh, yeah, heres a thread about it Story: This is my 8th Volvo. Prior to this, I was driving an '02 V70 2.4T auto. Reliable, but slow, and transmission was going to explode eventually So, I sold it (and made $1k profit on it!) and decided to save up for something nicer / faster / moar intredesting. So, I text guy who I bought my old flash green S60R from in February 2013, ask him what he had for sale. 2013 XC90 R-design, 2013 C30 R design. C30 was too rich for me, Im not a soccer dad yet so XC90 was out of the question. He tells me he has an 07 V70R. Boom. I want it. last year of the "rea" P2Rs, and according to the chassis, made during the last two weeks of production So, I go and pick it up. I didnt have a car lined up yet after i sold my 02 v70, so I had to drive around my fathers 98 Cadilliac Deville, Decent car, not that bad on gas, but still, I'd rather drive an R First time seeing it at the dudes house: I bought it at exactly 65,000 miles, 3 of my other cars were bought "on the dot" like this lol Finally home! So first things first: Stage 0 (and some cosmetic mods) Full interior converted to LEDs + LED license plate lights, 65,505 miles This was more to make the engine bay look better, Race60R silicone OTE pipe couplings, installed at 66,114 miles Poly Transmission Torque Mount, installed at 66,012 miles New coolant expansion tank + Blue Volvo coolant , installed at 67,348 miles Original was rather toasted at 67k No picture cause its not really interesting, oil change with German Castrol Synthetic 0w-30 + Bosch oil filter at 67,399 miles New Volvo OEM spark plugs at 68,401 miles ( didnt have a picture of the old ones, camera died ) iPd R syle boost gauge + pod installed at 68,964 miles Gauge and pod kit is really good quality, but for $180 it better damn well be A picture Michael took at Carlisle 2014 (Thanks, my photograph skills are limited to cell phone shots lol) Carbon fiber intake cover (thanks Chuck ) and Snabb Turbo inlet pipe installed at 69,980 miles And, as of today, the car sits at 70,143 miles I have an obx downpipe sitting in my garage right now that is waiting to be installed right now, just gotta find some free time to install it So thats it, Ill update as more stuff happens

RBoy8
Looks good, Gabe! And no problemo for the photo lol. Are you still planning to put the Ixions on or selling them?
JOHN_CENA
Nice ! Congrats ! ! Personally I like that blue better than the Sonic. I think you're talking about magic blue, my car is black sapphire, but they look so similar in certain lighting that they always get mixed up lol Who knows what will be next on the agenda for the wagon! JOHN_CENA
Some neat updates! Went with a Mac 35a TCV, I feel a pretty good difference over the stock TCV at 70k I lost a front axle bolt last week, so I took the liberty of getting XC90 bolts with the rubber insulator. I loctited the crap out of the new bolts so they dont come out again, and the rubber insulator eliminated that annoying ping when shifting from park to drive. Got a set of 15mm spacers in today, so I wanted to try a new set of wheels on. New wheels meaning.... Ixions! They are off a 2012 S60 R-design, the ones with the gray powercoat finish vs. the 2013+ Black / Machined finish. But, of course, all good things come to an end. I was driving to drop off some mulch earlier today with my 99 E150, when I lost 2-3 gear. I checked all fuses, all fuses looked fine. Checked the trans fluid, black as could be. So, It looks like Ill need a new transmission in the work van. Didnt really budget for the trans to fail, so I guess these wheels will be up for sale soon. Timbo Slice
Please find some other way to pay for the trans, those wheels look SO good on your car Gabe! Take it from me, you'll be kicking yourself in no time. I need to get my thread together one of these days..
Mesoam
i normally hate those wheels but they actually look good on that car!
JOHN_CENA
Thanks! I kind of do have to sell em, need my van for work asap. I think I will go with 2013+ ixions next time around
Timbo Slice
Personally, I like the ones you have. The dark grey really breaks it up and gives your car the small accent it needs, not to mention really makes the calipers pop.
JOHN_CENA
Nothing fun / special, did an oil change with Royal Purple since it was $30 for 6 quarts at Advanced Auto Parts today Changed at 70,273 miles (Im just trying to document all maintainence, sorry its not all that interesting!) Hopefully when George at Viva gets his rear in gear and actually ships my parts out, then ill have more interesting updates, also, some ipd things
