JOHN_CENA
For sale? Why? Everything I own is for sale for the right price! But seeing how nobody wants Volvo wagons anymore, Ill just keep it until someone throws me $20k for it, which I dont see happening anytime soon Nothing really exciting during the past week, brushed aluminium mirror covers, iPd upper engine stabilizer bar coversion kit, some pretty iPd parts Oh, 15mm H&R spacers up front, 20mm racemax spacers out back. Took the car to a trip to Manhattan, checked the tires for rub afterwards, no rub Also reconditioned the seats. Front passenger and rear seats were in great shape to start with, but I reconditioned them anyway. Drivers seat has the best improvment obviously: Before: After: Since iPd had the summer sale last week, and I had a $50 iPd giftcard, I went ahead and did a useless but pretty purchase. Silver iPd door lock pins. 3 of them went in no problem, but as usual, the last one was a pain. The pin somehow managed to get into the door panel, since for some reason the rear passenger door lock pin didnt come up high enough. So I had to take this crap apart to dig the pin out, since it was also rattling around for 2 days while I drove with it inside the door : So now all the pins are in place and correctly adjusted. Money shot: Currently waiting on a FMIC kit, since Matt K. doesn't currently have any in stock. 75+ degree temperature bogs down the stock Intercooler(s) badly. matt b
How much of a pain was the poly trans mount ? Mine's aging, but I've read horror stories of people damaging their trans case when replacing it.
JOHN_CENA
trans mount was literally 10 minutes, remove 4 bolts, take out the old mount, drop new one in, bolt it up. My original mount bushings were already worn out / cracked at 65k. In retrospect, I think I am going to go back to a rubber mount or poly / rubber combo, I feel too much vibration when going up hills in 6th gear /old man To add to the previous post: The only way I see someone damaging the transmission casing is if they REALLY toruq down the transmission side bolts. I just put some blue loctite and put tightened it about as strong as an oil filter tightening.
JOHN_CENA
I totally forgot I made a progression thread But I might as well update it Did a transmission drain / fill somewhere around 70k I also have since reverted from my Pseudo iPd mount (!) to a rubber transmission torque mount, autobox + hills + transmission that likes to shift up for better gas mileage = annoying vibrations Got my OBX downpipe on. As usual, the bolts holding the downpipe to the rest of the exhaust were extremely rusty, so I just cut the bolts out and the resonator too because rain squeal (sorry for potato phone image) Purchased and installed a canbus function extender from Volvotech.eu, pricey, but whatever Got a set of Venn-Air coolant hoses to dress up the engine bay EuroSportTuning lip, 10 LED H3 foglights (useless at night, but I like the look, planning on 35w HID's soon) and brushed aluminium mirror caps as well This is going in in about two weeks after classes start again and I have time in between classes so yeah

NEU
I also have since reverted from my Pseudo iPd mount (!) to a rubber transmission torque mount, autobox + hills + transmission that likes to shift up for better gas mileage = annoying vibrations I upgraded the bushings in mine to poly and yes increased viberation but I noticed crisper shifts. But how did you get better MPG with rubber? Did you reset the trans adaptors?

But how did you get better MPG with rubber? Did you reset the trans adaptors? I don't think I mentioned better mpg, I was referring to the fact that while driving in automatic mode, the transmission likes to upshift while going up hills, and low rpms + load on the engine made the vibrations from the engine quite noticeable. As for shift quality, I don't notice a difference between rubber or poly
Mesoam
Was your trans fluid that brown/burnt? if so i'd be flushing it not just drain/refill
JOHN_CENA
It was actually more like a crimson. My white balance on my phone is total crap haha. I did a drain / fill / drive cycle 4 times, so I think I replaced most of the fluid
